Allison Pelton is the Director of Audiology and has been on staff with our office since 2001. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and continued on to Western Michigan University for her Master’s degree in Audiology.

Allison loves working with the hearing impaired and enjoys being able to help each person achieve the best hearing possible. She finds new technology fun and interesting. She loves being able teach patients how easy it is to use their hearing aids with phones, tv’s, and more.

Although hearing losses may be similar in degree, the way that the hearing loss can effect each individual person and their family members is unique. She will figure out the best techniques for you to succeed with your hearing aids!!

Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time with her husband Bob, and her 3 school aged boys, Walker, Bishop and Reid. If there is any time left over from her family or work, she loves to pick up a good book and read, or drink a glass of wine.

Valerie Osborne joined our Hearing Resources Audiology staff in December 2016.  She received her Doctor of Audiology degree and Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.  Before joining our family, she has worked in a variety of settings such as manufacturing, private practices and proudly serving our nations veterans at the Veteran’s Administration!

Valerie first became interested in hearing impairment due to her own fathers hearing impairment that he has endured for most of his life.  Growing up and seeing his struggles with hearing loss has given her a special love for this profession.  She strives to treat every patient how she would want someone to treat her father.

In her spare time Valerie loves to spend time with her husband, David, their dog Glory, and all of her nieces and nephews.

Janet Morency joined our staff in the summer of 2017 as a Clinical Audiologist and brings 40 years of experience with her.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Master’s degree in Audiology from Wayne State University.

Janet knew at age 14 that she was destined to be an audiologist and still loves audiology and working with patients as much as she did back then.  She began her career in Michigan and then spent 20+ years in various European countries focusing on hearing aid research/development and international training of audiologists and acousticians. She returned to Michigan to be closer to her ageing parents.

Outside of work Janet enjoys her hobbies of music and languages and spending time with her two puppy “babies”:  Finley, a Coton De Tulear and Rosie, a Yorkie Dachshund mix.

James Thornburg joined our Hearing Resources Audiology staff in July 2017.  He received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

James enjoys working with patients of all ages while forming long term relationships.  He finds satisfying the hearing needs of patients to be extremely rewarding, and enjoys learning about new research and technology to pass on to patients to help make them as successful as possible.

Outside of work you can find James enjoying the great outdoors, exploring new restaurants, playing with his dog Oliver and of course watching sports (GO GREEN!)

Cecilia Schmidt has been a part-time audiologist with Hearing Resources for over ten years. Cecilia grew up on the east side of the state, attended Eastern Michigan University and received her Master’s Degree in Audiology from Wayne State University. She worked for two years in Texas and then moved to Comstock Park, MI, with her husband, Miles, and two children.
The family has now grown to nine children and one daughter in law.

Cecelia enjoys working with our medical staff and meeting the great variety of patients who come through our doors with hearing needs.  Helping to satisfy those needs is a pleasure.

Patient Care Coordinator

Jill McDermed has been a part of the ENT Center since 1998. She began working in Hearing Resources in the fall of 2009 with one of her first experiences being the “battery sale”. That was quite the start to her new adventure. Jill enjoys working in Hearing Resources for many reasons.  She loves to learn about new hearing aids and how they can work with new technology.  She particularly enjoys providing maintenance and in office repair of old and new hearing aids.

Jill is happily married to Shawn and they have 3 wonderful children ages 22, 10 and 8. She has recently started piano lessons with her youngest, she enjoys knitting (although she says most of her projects are half finished) and enjoys going to local restaurants and winery’s.
